Gathering of Nocturnals December 2021

PDGA C-tier

The QDGC brings you the inaugural Gathering of Nocturnals one round event (for now). We will be lighting up the gardens baskets and tee pads in the darkness of night.

This will be a test run for a fully fledged night golf tournament. This is sure to be a fantastically fun and sociable gathering. If you haven’t played in the darkness of night, you’re in for a thrill. When you hit the tree holes in the gardens, it is pitch black.

Spaces are strictly limited.

QUEENSTOWN GARDENS DISC GOLF COURSE

-1 x round of 18 holes on regular course
-Kicking off around 9.30pm – 10.00pm

WHAT TO BRING
-Disc suitable for night time play, ie a disc with a light attached, Glow disc
-Illumination device for recharging glow discs, ie torch, mobile phone light
-Head torch or hand held light (mandatory)
-Playing at night so warm clothing

We will have lights for discs, available for purchase prior to the round. Including packing tape to fix the light to your disc (If needed).

Translucent discs are best (Champion, Z line, C line plastic etc).

We will be down at the QT gardens, from 7.30pm, setting up the course. Event HQ will be in the carpark located beside the bowling and tennis clubs. Follow the lights.

8th Tucker Beach Rush Disc Golf Tournament

PDGA C-tier, NZDG Tour Event

We are changing the event format to be able to accommodate more players over the 2 day weekend. The event will be held on a 27 hole course – 15 of which will be from the regular permanent course (albeit with some minor tweaks) and 12 entirely new holes. A total of 2 rounds (54 holes) will be played over the 2 days and tee times will be used to arrange play – one round per day. A solid long game is required but those soft finesse shots should be ready to come out of your bag when required.

    2021 RPM Rapture – Tucker Beach Disc Golf Course

    Queenstown disc golf club is proud to host it first RPM Rapture event.

    This fun event will test your ability to throw just three of RPM’s finest premium plastic discs in a regular round of golf. And show some real control in a fun exciting format of golf. A putter, mid range and driver. That’s all you need anyway to hit some great lines, angles, and scores. And anyone has a chance to win.

    This will be a 4 round Singles Tournament, played over 2 days on the 18 hole Queenstown Gardens course (2 x 18 hole rounds Saturday, 2 x 18 holes Sunday), with Saturdays rounds only being unseeded, Sunday’s rounds being seeded by division.     Kia Ora Huckers of New Zealand! 2020 is upon us, and with it comes a disc golf event you won’t want to miss! The 25th Annual Queenstown Classic Disc Golf tournament is nearly here. Not only is this event a celebration of 25 years of Queenstown Classic disc golf tournaments, but also Queenstown plays host to the South Island Championships! So slip on your fanciest socks, spit shine those drivers and prepare yourself for a weekend of unforgettable Disc Golf.

    The 25th Queenstown Classic Disc Golf Tournament will take place in the stunning Queenstown Gardens, on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th of September 2020. There will also be a 2 round doubles tournament held on Friday, 25th of September.

    The Singles Tournament (26-27th September) will be played over 2 days on a specially created 25 hole course upon the Queenstown Gardens course (2 x 25 hole rounds Saturday, 2 x 25 holes Sunday), with Saturday’s rounds only being unseeded. There will also be a Fantastic Four round of 6 holes for the top 4 players. As always, there will be awesome prizes up for grabs, games, clinics, and multiple divisions of entry.

    Queenstown disc golf club is again proud to host its second annual New Zealand disc golf tour tournament for the year.

    We are ready to showcase this beautiful part of New Zealand to the world. A solid long game is required but those soft finesse shots should be ready to come out of your bag when required. Post Covid-19 we have decided to allow our awesome sponsors some time to recovery from tough times. So rather than making requests for support by way of providing a multitude of prizes, we are going back to basics, and making this event all about the disc golf. We will still have some prizes though. Don’t fret.

      The 24th Annual The Helicopter Line Queenstown Classic Disc Golf Tournament will take place in the stunning Queenstown Gardens, on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd March 2019..

      This will be a 4 round Singles Tournament, played over 2 days on the 18 hole Queenstown Gardens course (2 x 18 hole rounds Saturday, 2 x 18 holes Sunday), with Saturdays rounds only being unseeded, followed by a Fantastic four round of 6 holes for the top 4 players. There will be excellent trophies and lots of great prizes in 8 divisions.

      The Queenstown disc golf club is proud to be hosting its 5th Discraft Ace Race.

      Each year, disc golfers from around the world gather at their local courses for one purpose: to throw aces! No putting, no approaching… just runnin’ at the chains.
