QDG Players Social Ladder - Challenge Rules.

  1. The basic rules of the ladder are simple: You may challenge a player up to 5 spots higher on the ladder than yourself. If you win the match, you move up to that spot and the player you beat moves to your previous spot. Swap your Bag Tag numbers at completion of a game.
  2. Players should challenge/accept only one match at a time. A player may not accept or challenge a different player until he/she has completed the original challenge. Exception: Players may play up to a maximum three (3) multi-person match only if all competitors are consecutively ranked on the ladder.(multi person challenge rule up for discussion/change at next committee meeting)
  3. Players should make every effort to make and accept challenges. Be pro-active about challenging higher ranked players. If a player fails to show up for an agreed upon challenge match, the challenge’e shall forfeit (lose) the match.(This must be reported on the scorecard and handed in to the Shoe clinic)
  4. If a date/time for a challenge cannot be agreed upon with a particular player, the challenger try someone else. A player that refuses 3 consecutive challenges from a individual challenger( without valid reason.e.g… Broken leg ) will automatically forfeit  to the challenger and swap places on the Social Ladder.
  5. If a player is injured or not available to play for a period of time, that player must contact the Shoe Clinic to be identified as “inactive” on the ladder. These “inactive” players will not count as one of the five spots higher for challenging purposes. Inactive players will be given a maximum *4 weeks grace period to recover.
  6. If an active player refuses to accept a challenge or fails to return phone calls from the same person three times in a period of two weeks (not as a result of pending challenges) that will constitute a loss.
  7. It is the responsibility of the winner of each match to report the match score to the Shoe Clinic in person with score card within 48 hours of the conclusion of the match.
  8. Please establish all ground rules prior to starting the match (or hole) in regard to out-of-bounds, disc in trees, lost disc, mandatory, etc. Use of  the official score card is compulsory, challenges  will not be enter on to ladder otherwise.  Scorecards for ladder matches can be purchased from the Shoe Clinic at a special Ladder/club member discounted Rate.
  9. PDGA rules apply for all ladder challenges  including penalty stroke for a disc in tree/bush 2 meters or higher and a lost disc not found within 6 minutes.
  10. PDGA or Challenge Ladder rule may be modified by mutual agreement of both players before any Challenge commences.
